"De revolutionibus orbium coelestium," was important because from it we learned that the earth was not the center of the universe. The same thing is happening again. We are learning that the universe is not what we thought it was.
When Trump goes to prison, the security placed around him would be expensive. The security requirements would also limit what jail or prison he could go to and how long he would be locked up. Trump’s secret service detail would somehow have to protect him while he was in prison. Trump would be confined in a location whose security met the approval of the US Secret Service.
Unless the candidate was removed from prison and sent to a halfway house or even given house arrest, it’s difficult to see how this could be done.
The security that would be required for him in a prison may be impossible and courts may be swayed to have him confined to a more stringent form of “house arrest,” or he would be sent to a special prison or halfway house.
If Trump did end up going to prison, he would be isolated from the rest of the prison population. Trump would have limited communication with the outside world. He wouldn’t be able to campaign or even run some form of compromised campaign because of his limitations in prison.
It is unknown how long Trump will be locked up in jail or prison, but given the increasing number of cases and their severity, it is likely it is going to be a long time.
If elected, Trump cannot run the nation from inside of jail cell, although he cannot run the country from any location regardless.
The framers likely never thought such an occurrence was even possible.
Because Trump is facing 37 criminal counts of unauthorized possession of classified material, obstruction of justice, and making false statements to law enforcement, he will likely be locked up for a long time.
Because his charges include 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act, Trump will likely be locked up for a long time.
Because counts related to conspiracy and withholding or concealing documents are very serious and carry up to a 20 year sentence each, Trump is likely going to be locked up for a long time.
Because virtually all of Trump’s cases and their charges are extremely serious and very damning, Trump is likely to be locked up for a long time.
If Trump violated the Espionage Act, and illegally possessed sensitive national defense information, which we all know he did, he could be locked up for a long time. The details of the documents could also be politically damaging and his base would be reduced.
